What comes next
Two lists fall out of the maps. The first is already on the shelf: canonical works the library holds but cannot yet show a reader, because the scan has not been transcribed or translated. The second is not held at all, with a public-domain source named for each. Together they are the to-do list for the traditions on this site. The priority list ranks both, with a cost on each line.
Already on the shelf
Held works with no readable edition, ordered by the number of untranslated pages. The edition shown is the one with the most pages; the link opens its page on sourcelibrary.org. Making one readable is a transcription and translation run, not an acquisition.

Canonical works the library lacks, each re-checked against the local catalogue and page index on 2026-09-10 (518 candidates re-checked; 24 found after all and moved back into the maps), then matched against the Internet Archive. Tier 1: the survey named an archive item and it exists. Tier 2: an archive search hit whose title matches. Tier 3: a weak hit, check before importing. Tier 4: not on the Internet Archive; needs Gallica, HathiTrust, e-rara, BDRC or GRETIL, or is manuscript-only. On 2026-10-16 the whole list went through the library's acquisition queue: the status column shows what came of it. An acquired work is a hidden scan on the shelf; transcription and translation are a separate, costed decision.
